About Us

The arts at SCU are a blending of classroom, community and professional arts out of which are created a rich mix of experiences, which will Educate, Engage and Entertain, both artist and audience. SCU•Presents creates a place for people of all ages and backgrounds to come together and share in the life-affirming exploration of the imagination—of creativity—of what it is to be human.

Educate

The arts stimulate, celebrate and enhance an understanding of others and ourselves through a shared experience. Our goal is to make the arts an integral part of student life, while keeping it affordable and accessible to all who want to participate.

Engage

The Arts for Social Justice program is a collaborative, interdisciplinary initiative whose mission is to raise awareness about critical issues addressing the human condition, through the creation of and participation in a wide variety of art forms, both on and off campus, that foster dialogue and action in the community.

We further engage and strengthen our commitment to the arts through our Visiting Artists Partnerships. From the finest professional artists, (Broadway’s Next Hit Musical!) to the best community arts organizations (Ching Ching Chorus, India Waves, Center Stage Dance Company, Arte Flamenco de San Jose) SCU•Presents demonstrates our commitment to all the arts.

Entertain

In everything we do, whether to educate the whole person, make a difference through Arts for Social Justice or engage our community, our underlying goal is to also entertain.  We invite you to join us at SCU•Presents for a wonderful season.
